Privacy Policy

Northpath is a personal productivity app for iPhone. This policy explains what the app stores on your device, what may be sent to Northpath services, and how export and deletion work.

Short version: Northpath does not sell personal data, does not use personal data for advertising, and does not use third-party tracking. Screen Time reports stay on device. Cloud AI is used only when you sign in and request features that cannot run locally.

Information Northpath Handles

Category Examples How it is used
Planning content Tasks, priorities, planner blocks, reminders, routines, journal entries, study decks, grocery lists, gym plans, diet plans, settings, and exported app state. To provide the app's planning, focus, review, study, and export features.
Calendar data Calendar event titles, timing, and Northpath-authored focus blocks. To show today's schedule and create or edit focus blocks you request.
AI request context The limited task, planner, calendar, or app context needed for a suggestion. To generate planning suggestions, task breakdowns, reviews, or assistant replies.
Account and purchase records Sign in with Apple account identifier, backend session records, App Store transaction identifiers, subscription status, and Cloud AI credit balance. To authenticate backend requests, verify purchases, prevent abuse, and apply AI quotas or credits.
Support messages Support subject, message, category, app version, build number, iOS version, and device model. To answer support requests and troubleshoot issues you send to Northpath.
Device activity summaries Screen Time totals, pickup counts, and app-duration summaries displayed by Apple's DeviceActivityReport framework. To show optional usage reporting inside the app after you approve Screen Time access.

Local Storage

Northpath stores your app data locally on your device. This includes your planning content, preferences, focus history, routines, study data, voice memo files, and other app state. Backend session tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain.

You can export a JSON snapshot from Northpath Settings. Northpath does not receive that export unless you choose to send it through another app or support channel.

iCloud and CloudKit

If iCloud sync is available and enabled for your Apple account, Northpath may sync app-state shards through Apple CloudKit using your private iCloud database. This is used to keep your Northpath data available across your own devices. Northpath does not use CloudKit data for advertising or tracking.

AI Processing

On-device Apple Intelligence

On supported devices, Northpath uses Apple Intelligence on device. In that route, suggestion requests are processed locally by Apple's on-device framework.

Cloud AI fallback

When Apple Intelligence is unavailable, you may sign in with Apple and use Northpath's backend fallback. Northpath sends the request context needed for the selected feature to its backend, which processes the request with AWS Bedrock. The backend uses your Sign in with Apple account identifier to authenticate requests, enforce quotas, verify purchases, and prevent abuse.

Northpath does not use AI request content for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. Some backend records, such as quotas, entitlement cache, support messages, session revocation records, or cached AI plan data where applicable, may be retained to operate the service and prevent abuse.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Northpath uses Apple's In-App Purchase system for subscriptions and Cloud AI credits. Apple processes payment information. Northpath does not receive or store your credit card number. Northpath may receive signed App Store transaction information and store subscription or credit status so the backend can unlock paid Cloud AI features.

App Store purchase history remains with Apple. Deleting a Northpath backend account does not cancel an active Apple subscription. You can manage subscriptions through your Apple account settings.

Support

If you send a support message in the app, Northpath stores the message and diagnostics needed to respond. Northpath may send a notification about the support ticket through its email provider so the support request can be handled.

Screen Time and FamilyControls

Northpath's Usage tab uses Apple's FamilyControls and DeviceActivity frameworks only after you approve the system authorization prompt. Screen Time data is displayed on device through Apple's report extension. Northpath does not send Screen Time app-usage details, website activity, or report output to its backend, AWS Bedrock, CloudKit, support, or analytics.

Microphone, Speech, Music, and Calendar

Northpath may request microphone and speech recognition access for dictated capture and voice memos. Voice recordings and transcripts are part of your local app data unless you export them or include related text in a support or Cloud AI request.

Northpath may request Apple Music, Spotify, notification, and calendar permissions when you use related features. Calendar access is used to read your schedule and create Northpath focus blocks. Music integrations are used to start selected playlists during focus or meditation sessions.

Tracking and Advertising

Northpath does not sell personal data, does not share personal data with data brokers, does not serve third-party ads, and does not use personal data for cross-app or cross-site tracking.

Deletion and Retention

Northpath Settings includes local export and local deletion controls. Local deletion clears app data stored on the current device and starts fresh.

If you signed in to the Cloud AI backend, Northpath also provides backend account deletion. Backend deletion removes support messages, cached AI plan data, quota counters, and billing entitlement cache for your Apple sign-in account. Minimal session invalidation records may be retained until existing backend sessions expire so deleted-account sessions cannot be reused.

Backend account deletion does not delete local app data from your device, does not delete your Apple purchase history, and does not cancel Apple subscriptions.

Children and Health

Northpath is a productivity app, not a medical device, diagnosis tool, therapy, or emergency service. It is not intended to diagnose or treat ADHD or any health condition. If you are using Northpath for a child or dependent, use Apple's built-in account, purchase, and Screen Time controls as appropriate.
